Product UI/UX

The Product UI/UX Intern is responsible for supporting the design, development, creative process to create compelling interfaces and workflows. This is a non-exempt, non-supervisory position, reporting directly to the Product UI/UX Specialist.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Support the Product UI/UX Specialist with mockup and prototype design
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers
  • Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences
  • Facilitate the client’s product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products
  • Understand business requirements and any technical limitations within online systems
  • Take a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs
  • Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions
  • Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, skills, and abilities:

  • Should be highly adaptable, creative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Be passionate for creating experiences in online environments
  • Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision
  • A solid understanding of user-centered design (UCD), planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, usability and accessibility concerns
  • Ability and desire to problem-solve, prioritize, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Be open to receiving feedback and constructive criticism
  • Extremely strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality

Experience/knowledge:

  • Experience in standard UX software
  • Proven and demonstrable experience developing and compelling user experiences
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Exposure to Agile Methodology
  • Experience designing and shipping mobile applications
  • Strong visual design skills, and solid intuition and passion for interaction design
  • Ability to prototype interactive designs
  • Capable of acting as a PM when needed
  • Ability to think at a high level about product strategy
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; you’ll be expected to be able to clearly communicate design decisions and write user specs
  • Proficiency in Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other design tools

Job Types: Part-time, Internship, Contract

Salary: $30.00 to $35.00 /hour
